In The Beginning Thoughts and Comments
Please find below some charts that Pastor Guy put together as well as some lings to different web sites.
The following image reminds us that Adam and Eve were alive to see many generations of their offspring. The date zero, coincides with the date Adam and Eve were thrown from the garden of Eden, or in other word the year 0. The dates then move up the scale to 1656 after the fall of Adam and Eve, or the year of the flood. Below the date line is the offspring of Cain and above the line is the offspring of Seth.
Remember, Cain's offspring as listed in Genesis 4 was mostly Evil and Seth's offspring as listed in Genesis 5 is righteous, particularly in consideration to Enoch who preached a message of judgement (a man who never died bur was taken to live with God in Heaven) and Noah was saved from the flood.

The following table was pointed out by one of our members David. Can you see a presentation of the Gospel in the names of Adam's offspring through the line of Seth?
Genesis 6:1-8 NIV
When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord.

On Sunday 17 March, 2019, Pastor Guy preached on the topic of Genesis 6 and different opinions as to how to interpret the meaning of the passage. The following 3 options were presented. A 4th option which is held by some is that the Sons of God were Godly men from any of Adam and Eve's offspring and that the daughters of humans were the evil and ungodly members of society. This very closely follows the Sethite view, but allows good and bad people to be in any family.
The ultimate purpose of Genesis 6:1-8 is to remind us that everyone except for Noah's family was evil all the time and that God was justified in destroying the world in the flood.
